Why LA MER came to life

LA MER was born from a simple observation. During one of my book readings, almost everyone insisted they weren't close to burnout. Yet the moment we talked about letting go of something that was clearly exhausting them, the same thing happened. Their imagination sprinted straight towards disaster.

"If I leave my job, I'll never find another one."

"What if everything becomes even worse?"

"What if I lose everything?"

You don't have to look at your future through the eyes of your fear.

The remarkable part? None of it had happened. They were only stories. Stories powerful enough to keep people exactly where they were. Some time later, I held another reading. This time, LA MER stood quietly behind me. The same difficult conversations appeared. The same uncomfortable truths surfaced. But something unexpected happened after the break.

People laughed. Ideas appeared. Hope quietly returned. The evening ended with lightness instead of fear. That was the moment I understood what LA MER was really about. Not pretending life is easy.

Simply creating enough space for new possibilities to enter the room.

About the Original

LA MER is a one-of-a-kind diptych consisting of two canvases measuring 70 × 80 cm each. Every texture has been created by hand using palette knives and layered acrylics.

No second original exists.
