Why this artwork came to life

Sometimes everything begins with a single white feather. One day the soundtrack from Forrest Gump simply wouldn't leave my head. By then I'd learned something curious: Whenever a song refuses to let go it's usually trying to tell me something.

So I picked up my palette knife. No sketch. No plan. No expectation. Just the music.

Sometimes your next step knows more than your mind.

And a quiet feeling that something wanted to appear. Much like Forrest himself, this painting didn't seem particularly interested in explaining where it was going. It simply kept moving.

Today, at 100×120 cm, it's one of the largest pieces I've ever created. Perhaps that's fitting. The biggest chapters of our lives rarely begin with certainty.

They begin with a quiet instinct we're brave enough not to ignore.
